Blueberry Basil Lemonade, The long stretch of warm Summer days are here. And there is no quicker way to cool down than with a refreshing, ice-cold drink. Homemade lemonade is given a delicious twist with the addition of sweet blueberries and fragrant basil. A simple recipe that focuses on fresh Summer garden ingredients. Enjoy!
- 1 1/4 cup fresh blueberries wild, organic if possible
- 4 sprigs fresh basil
- 1 lemon juiced
- 2 cups chilled water
- 1 cup ice optional
- Place the blueberries and the basil in a blender and blend on high until uniformly combined, about 30 to 60 seconds. Add the lemon juice and stir to mix.
- Pour water into a pitcher and add ice, if using. Add the berry mixture to the pitcher and stir to combine. Garnish each glass with blueberries, lemon & basil.
- Best enjoyed when fresh, but this lemonade can be stored in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
